Additional fees incurred if you do not swipe your card when getting off the bus

In the case of Seoul

For buses that charge fares regardless of distance, for example, metropolitan buses, you will not be charged even if you do not swipe your transportation card when getting off. However, even in this case, additional fees will not be charged but you will not be able to receive transfer benefits. Not receiving transfer benefits means that if you do not swipe your card when getting off and board the next bus, it will be recognized as having taken two different buses, so there will be no fare discount.

However, if you use a distance-proportioned bus, you will be charged an additional fee if you do not swipe your card when getting off.
If you don't swipe your card when getting off, they won't know where you got off, so you will be charged an additional maximum fare based on the distance from the boarding point to the last stop.
An additional 100 won is added for every 5 km from the basic 10 km, and is charged the next time you use public transportation.

In the case of Gyeonggi-do

Gyeonggi-do and Seoul are adjacent., so it is often possible to move by using public transportation.

Gyeonggi-do has a no-tag penalty system for getting off when using city buses. If you get off without swiping your card when getting off, a penalty of 700 won will be incurred. (The specific additional fee may vary depending on the distance traveled, changes in related systems, etc.)
