He who laughs last is the winner - Korean proverb

In South Korea, there is a proverb related to laughter. Proverbs are recognized as words containing the wisdom of our ancestors in the past, and are phrases that many people still empathize with today.

The saying goes, ‘He who laughs last is the winner.’ or ‘The one who laughs last is the winner.’, ‘The winner is the one who laughs last.’

Conflicts may arise when living within a group, such as at work. In this case, the person who laughs last becomes the ultimate winner. This means that even though you come close to defeat in the middle of a conflict, if you are able to laugh at the end, you will feel more psychologically satisfied, happy, and victorious.
